Eden Body Works-Peppermint Tea Tree Shampoo Product Review

shampoosm

Manufacturer: Eden Body Works

Type: PEPPERMINT Tea Tree Shampoo

Size: 8 fl.oz

Price: $8.50

Rating: 4

Attributes: This invigorating shampoo increases scalp circulation for a refreshed, renewed feeling. Removes all traces of dirt and oil build up. Formulated to help alleviate dry scalp with the use of pure peppermint botanicals. (Taken from the Eden Body Works website)

Ingredients: Water, Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate, Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Lauramidopropylamine Oxide,  Methyl Gluceth-10, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Hydroxypropyl Guar,  Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Hydroxypropyltrimonium Honey, PEG-150 Distearate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium Chloride, Disodium EDTA, Citric Acid, Panthenol, Peppermint (Mentha Piperita) Oil,  Tea Tree (Melaleuca Alternifolia) Leaf Oil, Phenoxyethanol (insert-hand cramp, had to type that out due to their ingredients being a pic instead of typed..*sigh*)

The Good: My hair felt clean as if I had used a clarifying shampoo. My hair did not feel striped once I rinsed it. I used a product sample I’d received from a hair event, the sample contained enough shampoo for me to wash my hair twice (I have a TWA) while in the shower.

The Bad: The shampoo lathers really well, A LOT. I have become accustom to sulfate free shampoos, and am not use to a lot of lather. Although my hair did not feel striped, it didn’t feel as moisturized as when I use Shea Moisture’s Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo. I did not feel the “tingle” many  spoke about when using this shampoo.

Overall: It’s a good product, and personally I will continue to use this shampoo, but as a clarifying shampoo. I will opt for the more moisturizing Shea Moisture shampoo or my sulfate free brands for daily/weekly use.

“The Juices”
Nourishing Herbal Leave-ins by Oyin

Our nourishing herbal leave-in tonics have been our most popular products since we first introduced “Greg Juice,” the original citrus-herbal version, in 2004. Now available in three unique scents, this oil-free mixture of vegetable moisturizers and herbal essences remains hugely popular among people with many different hair types and needs!

Greg Juice contains no added fragrance, only the citrus and lavender essential oils that are in each formula. It smells like a mild, citrusy-herbal refreshing breeze.

Frank Juice is scented with Frankincense and Myrrh fragrance oils. Juices & Berries is fragranced like a juicy fruit punch, bursting with flavor!

Night Time

Gather all hair and pull into a “loose” pony tail on top of your head using a scrunchie ( Pineapple Method). A scrunchie will not leave the indention from being in a pony tail, and keeping the ponytail loose will not disturb the curls. Also tuck the ends of the hair under the scrunchie

Morning Time

Remove scrunchie, lightly spritz with Oyin Handmade Juice & Berries, shake, fluff,  and GO!!!

Mini Me First Day of School -2011

Wow, where did the summer go? School finally re opened for mini me after Hurricane Irene. Every year since she entered kindergarten, I always took mini me to school on the first day. We would go to Starbucks, have our coffee beverage and a pastry and talk about the importance on staying true to yourself and not getting mixed in with the wrong crowd-aka- Mean Girls. I was super excited about our yearly tradition *squeals*, mini me had alternate plans {insert gas face}. She politely informed me that she was riding the bus on the 1st day { gasp}! The Bus!!!! what about our Starbucks date? What about tradition? Her response- we can do it tomorrow-followed by ‘ Moooooooom- I want to go with my friends on the bus” {insert face crack}.

She is a few months away from officially becoming a “teenager” she is ready to say “I’m 13”. Is this what I had to look forward too- my mini me dissing me to hang with her friends {sad face}. I tried to act like my feeling wasn’t hurt, and I managed to capture a few pic’s.

She is coming into her own style and has discovered MAKEUP! {screech}. Now she is asking for her own make up and brushes, double ear piercings, and teenager earrings ( the larger style hoops- I told her only teenagers and adults wear them- well she is banking on a pair for her 13th b’day)

whew, she is JUST LIKE ME- and I’M NOT READY!!!!!!! I wish I could turn back the hands of time- when she was 5 or 6 years old and she pranced around in my heels, my jewelry, and tried her best at imitating me. NOW she wants to WEAR my heels, and jewelry to school!!!!!{ locks the drawer on everything!}. I think she is trying to give me a run for my money on her perfected model walk {she has a show coming up September 17th} she can rip that runway- Just Like Her Mama {lol…lol..}
