On a recent shopping trip at Target, I found the Up&Up (Target store brand) Eye Make-Up Remover which said it was comparable to the Neutrogena brand on the label. I checked out the ingredients and it has the same formulation! It works so great its ridiculous! 1-2 swipes with a cotton pad removes everything off my eyes and its gentle enough to rub across my face for any residue my towelettes leave behind! Its also great at removing makeup reside and glue from lashes, allowing you to get multiple usage from 1 pair of lashes. It didn’t burn and the skin around my eyes actually felt moisturized.

I LOVE THIS STUFF!!!! This is my first experience using an eye make up remover product. I normally use Vaseline or EVOO ( extra virgin olive oil) to remove my eye make up. I’ve recently become obsessed with eyeshadow-the brighter the color the more I want to pack on ( lol..lol..) and lashes ( squeals) I love the look natural eye lashes gives me. I just feel so sophicated and flirty. Since suffering from so many skin issues I’ve become a skin care product junky. My skin is urber sensitive, so I will only try something once, if it start to burn, itch, or cause any other irritation- I’m D-O-N-E. I will defiantly purchase this product again, and include it as a staple in my skin care regime.

Have you tried any eye make up removers? what was your experience? Lets chat!

RECEIPE: Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse

Add shine, bounce and remove build-up from your hair with this simple apple cider vinegar rinse. Apple cider vinegar is a well-known health food and folk remedy. Acetic acid, the main ingredient, will remove build up from styling products and conditioners and strengthen the hair shaft, leaving you with soft, glimmering strands. Apple cider vinegar hair rinse will also balance hair’s pH level, kill bacteria and is a great cure for dandruff. This rinse in not recommended for color-treated hair, as it might strip the color.

Basic Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse

Step 1
Make the rinse by mixing 1/3 cup of apple cider vinegar with one quart of distilled water. Put the mixture in a glass jar or plastic bottle and bring it into the shower or bath.

Step 2
Shampoo hair and rinse well. Apply the apple cider vinegar rinse to your hair. Leave in for a few seconds. Rinse using cold water to seal the hair shaft and create more shine. Since vinegar is acidic, using the rinse daily is not advised. Try it once a week, at most. Pay attention to how your hair responds and adjust usage accordingly. Also, you don’t need to condition hair after the rinse.

Step 3
** Optional** add 5 drops of lavender, rosemary, lemon , sage or rose essential oil to the basic vinegar rinse recipe.

Step 4
If you notice a vinegar scent after you’re done rinsing, don’t fret. The smell will disappear after you towel dry your hair.

Tips & Warnings
Be careful to not get vinegar rinse in your eyes. It will burn.
Do not use on color-treated or processed hair. Acetic acid is a clarifier and can strip hair of color.

Vegatable Glycerin

What is it Vegetable Glycerin?

This is a versatile all natural product with an extended shelf life. It is a carbohydrate made from vegetable oil, often palm or coconut oil. It is water-soluble as well as hypoallergenic. Not only is it safe for use in cosmetics but ingestible as well.

Vegetable Glycerine is a clear, colorless, and odorless liquid with an incredibly sweet taste having the consistency of thick syrup. It is used as an agent in cosmetics, toothpaste, shampoos, soaps, herbal remedies, pharmaceuticals, and other household items. Because it is soluble in both, water and alcohol, its versatility is a major benefactor in its purported growth and popularity within the manufacturing sector. It is invaluable as a natural source ingredient with emollient like properties which can soften and soothe the skin and it assists the outer epidermis in retaining moisture. This helps to explain why it is one of the most popular cosmetic additives used today.

Glowing Skin Benefits

Vegetable Glycerin will help your skin by aiding with moisture retention that is so vital to skins health. We damage our skin with nature’s elements, make up, and water everyday. We use cleaners that contain drying agents and synthetics. We dry skin to the point of being visually flaking, peeling and look dull.

The anti-aging properties of vegetable glycerin helps keep that healthy additional moisture locked into the skin. The result is soft, smooth, silky skin that is radiant and younger looking.
Whether it is young, hormonal skin changes or mature skin the advantage of using this all-natural product will be obvious almost immediately.

Battling Acne

The skin being clean and properly moisturized prevents acne. There are commonly adverse effects such as redness or irritation with the common chemicals used in skin products. Vegetable glycerin is hypoallergenic and ideal for all skin types. There is a visible difference in skin when using these acne cleansers and moisturizers.

Preventing Acne

The antibacterial properties will keep pores clean from clogging debris that causes acne without the inflammation that can occur from using unnatural products.
Healing Acne:The same antibacterial properties in Vegetable glycerin will aid in the healing of acne after it has surfaced without undesirable or harmful effects.

There are very few products on the market today are not only as affordable but also as adaptable to your skin type as Vegetable glycerin. This acne and anti-aging solution is the answer to many dilemmas over what products are safe and effective for all skin types and ages.

Most glycerin recipes that I come across are

3 parts aloe vera gel
1 part vegetable glycerin

combine the two and mix well, use as a hair moisturizer. I have also used this as a facial moisturizer, it works you do need to refrigerate the concoction though ( its the aloe vera) there are also other variations such as a

natural hair spritzer

8 ounces distilled water

1 teaspoon aloe vera gel

1-2 drops of vegetable glycerine

1-2 drops essential oil

15 drops grapefruit seed extract
