1058944_10151739927863809_1684733022_nThe acquittal of George Zimmerman in the trail for the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin, 17, in Sanford, Florida has spurred a national response that is taking numerous forms, including rallies in multiple cities and active discussion on social media. 48 hours after the verdict I have 6 questions I would like you to answer (or think about)

1. What is your personal response?

2. What questions and issues does it raise for you?

3. Do you think the prosecutor was out “lawyered” by the defense attorney?

4. Were you surprised by the not guilty verdict?

5. How do you think history will remember the Trayvon Martin case? Will it be about civil rights, citizens’ rights to protect themselves, the judicial process–or something else?

6. In the aftermath of the verdict–how should we honor Trayvon Martin?

I ask all of you- NOW WHAT??? What are you going to do to make a difference?????

Take a listen to Judge Mathis perspective on the case: http://www.v103.com/pages/sh.html?article=11483441

  1. It makes me sad that he was found not guilty. I worry more about my son, he doesn’t dress like some young men do, is he going to be judged, and hurt because of it. I raised him to stand up for his civil rights and to be educated on those rights, will he would day be seen as offensive and pay for that with his life.

    • There was a young man 15 yrs old on the radio this morning crying.. He said he was scared for his life. I work at Moorehouse college and today i looked at those young men and tears fell from my eyes. They all are Trayvon Martin

#lupustaughtme To pay attention to what my body is saying to me. I should not ignore the little things. It has also taught me that I am the deciding factor in if I win or lose. @blackhealthmatters ・・・ One of the early symptoms of lupus is a low-grade fever for no apparent reason. Because it may hover somewhere between 98.5˚F (36.9˚C) and 101˚F (38.3˚C), you might not think to see a doctor. People with lupus may experience this type of fever off and on. #lupustaughtme “The doctors may say one thing, but God has the last say so. Its taught me how strong I truly am. To appreciate the little things, the activities of my limbs, being able to run my fingers through my scalp. Ive learned to say no, stand up for myself, enforce boundaries, rest when I need it, listen to my body, and most of all, love, embrace, and enjoy life. Its a beautiful journey. “ Thank you Chakeria 🦋💜✋🏾. . . . . #lupus #lupusawareness #lupuswarrior #spoonielife #chronicillness #NaturallyLupie #LupieChick #LupusChick #lupuschick #lupusadvocate #POP #blackhealthmatters #selfiesforlupus #selfies4lupus #lupusAwarenessMonth #lhandsign #LupusStrong #lupusadvocate #lupusawarenessmonth #lupusfighter #lupussurvivor #fucklupus #knowlupus #runlupus
@blackhealthmatters ・・・ About 90 percent of people with lupus experience some level of fatigue. An afternoon nap does the trick for some people but sleeping too much during the day can lead to insomnia at night. It may be difficult, but if you can remain active and stick to a daily routine, you may be able to keep your energy levels up. Speak to your doctor if you’re living with debilitating fatigue. Some causes of fatigue can be treated.
